Picture Day is always a little crazy. The routine of the school day is disrupted, parents forget, kids get nervous, and school staff can get stressed. Here's a few tips to help avoid this as much of as possible.

  • Parents should drop their kids off at school like it's a normal day. This is a rule I can never stress enough. In my experience, children have a harder time taking pictures with their parents around. The fact is, children are much braver without their parent/guardian. This will help make for a beautiful, natural, portrait of your child.

  • If you have any requests for hair or clothes, let the staff or me know and we'll make sure your needs are met.

  • Do not build up picture day too much. This can create a great amount of stress in a child trying to please their parents and teachers with a perfect smile.

  • Do not drill your children on smiling. Fabricating a natural smile is hard enough for adults, and is even more awkward for children. I will work very hard to get the beautiful, natural smile you know and love. Smile training can make this very difficult.

  • School Staff should be organized with lists to be aware of all children that need pictures singularly and with siblings, so no one is missed on picture day.

  • Be positive, calm and relaxed. These will project onto the children and staff, making for a better picture day.
